About Dr. Newman:
Dr. Roger Newman is a Columbia Falls native. He began his
private practice in his hometown in 1981 after graduating
from Carroll College (Helena, MT) and the University of
Minnesota Dental School. He started his dental career with
his family dentist and mentor, Dr. Robert Cotner. They
practiced in the same building until 1985. In 2000, the
practice moved into a new building at its current location
at 160 Nucleus Avenue.
Throughout his years of work, Roger has involved himself
in continuing dental education, community and professional
involvement to improve himself and the care he provides. He
has been recognized by two dental professional honorary
organizations, the American College of Dentists and the
International College of Dentists. He is a Past President
of the Montana Dental Association. Roger currently serves
on the American Dental Associations’ Council on Dental Practice.
He and his wife, Peggy, are outdoor enthusiasts who try to
take advantage of the offerings of living in this beautiful
area of Montana.

Roger has been a member of his state Association since 1981.
He has served eleven years on the MDA Board of Directors.
He held the office of President of the Montana Dental
Association in 2007-2008. Other activities have included
serving on the state Continuing Education Committee and holding
the office of President for the local First District Dental
Society.

Roger has been a member since 1993. He regularly far
exceeds the state licensure requirement of annual continuing
education.
Montana Study Club with Dr. Frank Spear
Since 1995, Roger has been part of this study group. They meet
four times a year for two days of study and clinical practice of
new and upcoming advances in the dental field. Dr. Frank Spear
is an internationally known prosthodontist and speaker.

In the fall of 2005 in Philadelphia, Roger was inducted to this
honorary organization. The International College of Dentists
recognizes individuals for outstanding and meritorious service
to the dental profession and community.

The mission of the American College of Dentists is to promote
excellence, ethics, professionalism and leadership in dentistry.
Approximately 3.5% of dentists are Fellows of the ACD and are
selected on their contributions to organized dentistry, oral
health care, dental research, dental education, the profession,
and society. Roger was be inducted to this group September 2007
in San Francisco.
